

The Sevillenca variety is also known by the synonyms “Solivenc”, “Sevillana” and “Sevillenc”. It is grown mainly in the Baix Ebre-Montsiá region in the provinces of Tarragona and north of Castellón.
Its cultivation area is estimated at 15,000 hectares. It is a variety considered local. Variety in regression, even in its growing area.
Vigorous variety, with an upright habit and a medium crown density. Little productive and regular in production, early in the entry into production and early maturation.
Sevillenca characteristic
Fruit of medium-high size and with little resistance to detachment, which together with its structure, makes it present a good adaptation to mechanized harvesting.
Little rustic variety, with a medium resistance to cold and little resistance to drought. Sensitive to repilo, soapy or vivillo olives, and olive flies. It has a good fat content and an acceptable extractability.
The oil of the Sevillenca variety is characterized by its olive fruitiness. It has a clear flavor of cooked almonds, some wood and banana that give it a very defined personality.
